Software ASPICE Certification #2
Serving as a seasoned Embedded Software Engineer, DDI consulted to a Tier 1 automotive supplier who was obtaining ASPICE certification. The task was both challenging and rewarding as it involved a deep dive into the client's internal engineering department. DDI's initial step was to analyze the existing tools, repositories, project artifacts, and processes being utilized by the engineering team. This thorough examination was crucial to understanding the current state and identifying areas that needed enhancement.
With a clear focus on the engineering portion of the quality management system process, DDI performed a gap analysis. This analysis was conducted against the stringent IATF, ASPICE, and ISO-9001 standards. The insights garnered from this gap analysis were instrumental in pinpointing specific deficiencies and potential areas for improvement within the engineering practices.
Armed with a comprehensive understanding of the gaps and the required standards, DDI devised a robust ASPICE quality management system process tailored to the client's needs. This process was designed to seamlessly integrate with their existing workflows, ensuring that all engineering activities were aligned with the ASPICE framework. The result was a significant improvement in the client's development practices, ultimately positioning them closer to achieving the ASPICE certification and elevating their overall product quality.
